Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making housepeek.ca accessible to everyone, in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Effective date: March 2026. Last updated: March 15, 2026.

1

Our commitment

HousePeek is committed to providing a platform that is accessible to all users (realtors, buyers, and the general public) regardless of ability or technology.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as required by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (Ontario Regulation 191/11).

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We continually review and improve our platform to remove barriers and increase usability for all visitors.

2

Standards we follow

WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance for all public-facing pages including listing pages, search results, realtor profiles, the dashboard, and inquiry forms.

Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and ARIA attributes where needed.

Keyboard-navigable interface. All interactive elements (links, buttons, forms, modals, the Studio chat) can be reached and operated without a mouse.

Sufficient colour contrast ratios for text and interactive elements as defined by WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.4.3.

3

Features we provide

Alternative text for all meaningful images, including property photos and realtor headshots.

Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes, zoom levels, and text scaling preferences.

Form labels, error messages, and input instructions that are programmatically associated with their controls.

Skip-to-content links and consistent navigation patterns across the platform.

No content that flashes more than three times per second.

4

Studio-designed content accessibility

Studio-designed listing pages are built using the same accessible component library as all other pages on the platform.

All Studio-designed pages maintain required colour contrast ratios, semantic heading structure, and keyboard navigability.

Core compliance elements (realtor name, brokerage information, contact details, and navigation) remain accessible regardless of the selected design theme.

Studio-designed property descriptions aim for clear, plain language. Realtors can edit any Studio-designed text to improve readability.

5

Known limitations

Some third-party embedded content (virtual tours, map widgets, video players) may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We work with vendors to improve accessibility where possible.

Studio-designed listing descriptions may occasionally use complex language. We review flagged content on an ongoing basis and encourage realtors to edit for clarity.

Custom design elements in Studio-designed listing pages are validated for accessibility before deployment, but edge cases may arise. Report any issues to hello@housepeek.ca.
